From Hotel La Pietra in Ile Rousse
Our hotel in L’Ile Rousse, regardless of its charms and stunning sea views, does nothing to detract from the bewitching beauty of our island, its lure, and the joy of meeting its inhabitants. Be seduced by the natural spaces and a land dotted with testimonies to the history, work, culture and traditions of its people.
See the wilds of nature on the rugged of La Pietra in L’Ile Rousse, with the waves crashing against the rocks. Beyond the fine sandy beach, walk down the “A Marinella” promenade and into the winding streets of the old town where you can wander by the covered market all the way to the shaded terraces of the cafés dotting the main town square, a perfect place to stop. The Tour Scalo (restored in 2012), the bust of famous Corsican leader and town founder Pascal Paoli, as well as many other curiosities await you before you head further afield. A stroll in La Balagne, this rich and nourishing land, is just the starter to a whole banquet of discovery on the island of Corsica. Discover Bastia, the capital of this region of Corsica with the Palais du Gouverneur, its citadel and its museum. Scale the 400 km² of the Cap Corse and its mountainous arête La Serra. Discover the Gulf of Porto and the fascinating magic of the Calanques de Piana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then further afield lies Bonifacio, as well as Ajaccio, the “coral city” and hometown of Napoleon Bonaparte, with its magnificent library, its imperial chapel where Napoleon’s parents were laid to rest, the birth house of the famous general and later emperor and the iconic citadel). You won’t need to go too far as Corsica has practically everything to see and do.
